Allied Health and Nursing Research Guide

This is a selective guide to information resources related to Allied Health and Nursing courses available in the Gerald B. James Library at Rockingham Community College, or accessible to library users through Internet connections. For further assistance in identifying, locating, or borrowing materials, please consult a librarian.

WebCat

Search for James Library materials with WebCat, the library's online catalog, the first link at the top of the Gerald B. James library page. The default search screen is a keyword search; use multiple search terms for better results. If you are looking for a specific book, select the drop-down arrow to change the "words or phrase" field to "title" and type in the title of the book. Call numbers are listed in bold for each record in a search results screen. Use the complete call number to find the item on the shelf.

If you need material beyond what is available in the James Library collection, you may expand your search to 43 other NC Community College library catalogs and have items shipped to RCC. This process is known as Interlibrary loan. On the WebCat search screen, select the drop-down arrow for the library field to change "Rockingham" to "All". If you find a title of interest in the search results, select the blue "Details" button for the item, then select "Place Hold" on the left side of the screen. On the Place Hold screen, enter your library barcode in the user ID field, leave the other text fields blank, and select "Place Hold" on the left side of the screen. Delivery usually takes about 5 working days. This service is FREE for RCC students, faculty, and staff.
