Students In Free Enterprise

What Is SIFE
Students in Free Enterprise
(SIFE) is a student based organization. It was designed to give participating students an
opportunity to teach others about how the free enterprise
system works. This goal is accomplished through outreach projects that target
diverse groups within the community. Annual reports are prepared every year
to document these projects and keep record of how these projects benefit the community. The opportunity to teach others about the free enterprise system, gives participating
students stronger communication, team building, and management skills,
It also gives
students an opportunity to make a difference in their community.

The Rockingham Community College SIFE chapter was established in 1990. Since its inception, the chapter has won a number of awards in regional and international competitions. The competitions provide students with an opportunity to present outreach projects to a diverse audience. Major projects are designed to illustrate strategies to reduce the deficit, encourage students to stay in school and show the correlation between income and education.
