36 NC Independent "Private" Colleges

The following are all the private colleges in North Carolina. This information is provided for students who are interested in transferring to a 4-year institution. In most cases, there is a contact name for transfer students as well as some links to click on for more information. If there isn't a contact person, call the main number and ask for a "transfer counselor" or an "admissions counselor that works with transfer students." Contact persons and links may change over time and will be monitored, however, if you notice an error, please contact Atticia Bundy at or 336-342-4261 ext. 2100.

Note: ICAA is an abbreviation for Independent Comprehensive Articulation Agreement and contains a list of "private" colleges that participate in the articulation of students from community college to private colleges.
