Career & College Promise
Career and College Promise is a program that allows high school students to attend classes at RCC and earn college credit transferable to all UNC System Institutions and many NC Independent Colleges and Universities, or earn college credit toward a credential, certificate or diploma in a technical career from RCC. By earning these credits while still in high school, students can get a head start on the next phase of their education and save thousands of dollars in tuition.
The College Transfer Pathway – Students may earn tuition-free transferable credits toward a four-year degree. The Core 44 Pathway provides 30-34 credits leading to the 44-hour general education core and can allow the students to enter college having already completed many core courses.
The Career Technical Pathway – Students earn tuition-free college credits toward an entry-level job credential or a certificate or diploma in a technical career. RCC offers Automation Systems, Criminal Justice Technology, Early Childhood Education and Welding Technology.
The Innovative High Schools Pathway (option only available to rising freshmen) – Students begin earning tuition-free college credits as high-school freshmen by attending the Rockingham Early College High School. For more information, contact the Early College at (336) 342-4261, ext. 2605 or visit the school’s website.
