        Emergency Services: Fire, Rescue, EMS
Rockingham Community College’s Emergency Services Training Center is the only facility of its kind in the Piedmont.

Opened in the Fall of 1997, the center has a 3-acre pond used as an alternate water source and for basic water rescue and recovery training.  The center is located on 20-acres off NC Highway 65, adjacent to the National Guard Armory in Wentworth.

The center’s state-of-the-art training building provides the latest technology for realistic training.  This facility offers a safe training environment for fire departments, rescue squads, Emergency Medical Squads, law enforcement and private industry groups.

The building has almost 5,000 square feet of space and is five stories tall.  It has a live burn simulator with non-toxic smoke, confined space props to include an elevator shaft, silo and a below ground tunnel.  It has interior and exterior stairs, a stand pipe system, ventilation panels on the roof, and is equipped with many high angle rescue-training options.

For more information about the training center, call Lisa King at
(336) 342-4261, ext. 111.
