10 cents per page charge for printing from James Library computers.  50 cents per page for color printing. Please be aware that the library does not receive any portion of your lab fees to cover the costs of printing.

Search WebCat for books and audiovisual materials located in the James Library, as well as in over 40 other North Carolina Community Colleges. Place holds for items at other campuses, renew books or check your records here with the barcode number found on your library card or student ID. Available from any computer, on campus or off campus.          

 

NCLive is the place to start with almost any research project. Large collection of databases, many full-text, covering a wide range of subject matter.  Includes magazine and journal articles, newspaper articles and much more. 

NC Live is available through any computer on the RCC campus, and from your home computer with a password.  Passwords change each year and are only available to currently enrolled curriculum students with  ID or proof of enrollment. You will receive the current password in your RCC student email account.

    Criminal Justice Periodicals via ProQuest 

Search a comprehensive collection of U.S. and international criminal justice journals including information for professionals in law enforcement, corrections administration, drug enforcement, rehabilitation, family law, and industrial security. Available through any computer on the RCC campus, and from your home computer with your library barcode number located on your library card or college ID.

   Westlaw is West's online legal research service. It provides quick, easy access to West's vast collection of statutes, case law materials, public records, and other legal resources, along with current news articles and business information. Available through the internet to students enrolled  in Criminal Justice or Business Law with a password obtained from the Instructor or in person from the James Library.  

 

Discovering Authors includes full-text biographies and critical essays on 300 of the most-studied novelists, poets, dramatists and short-story writers.  Entries include biographical and background information on the author, excerpts from critical writings, and bibliographies of works.  Available through library computers only.

  index includes full-text articles from the New York Times covering the years 1995 through the present.  Available through library computers only.
