Journals, Magazines & Newspapers
| The Library subscribes to over 300
magazines and scholarly journals, most of which directly support the instructional
programs of the college. Current issues of magazines and journals
are displayed in the periodicals area, while back issues are kept in
storage or on microfilm. The length of time back issues are kept
and the location in which they are kept vary. Information on
specific titles may be found in the
Periodicals List, which is
updated and distributed annually. Many more
full text magazine articles are available online through NCLive and
SIRS.
Scholarly journals vs. magazines - Information and definitions The Library has a current subscription to the newspapers listed below. The most recent daily and Sunday issues are displayed in racks in the periodicals area. Back issues from the current month are stored in carrels against the wall behind the bound journals. Back issues from the previous 3 months are in storage and may be requested at the circulation desk. Many more newspapers are available online through NewsBank, NCLive, and the New York Times Online.
