Celeste Allis was born and raised in South Carolina. After high school, she attended the University of South Carolina in Aiken where she received her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science. She then moved to Columbia where she attended the University of South Carolina and received her Masters of Science in Mathematics. Mrs. Allis joined the Rockingham Community College faculty in December 1995. Since she joined the faculty, she has served the college and community by serving on several campus committees. She currently organizes the Adopt-a-Highway program for Rockingham Community College, a faculty, staff and student volunteered effort, and she also serves the college and faculty as the President of the Faculty Senate. Her teaching has had a positive effect on students and in 2005 she received Rockingham Community College's Excellence in Teaching Award. Along with teaching, she also serves the division as the Chair of the Mathematics Department. Celeste Allis is an inspiring member of our faculty who gently shows her concern for the environment, her love for animals and her dedication to personal health and wellness. She lives in Brown Summit with her husband Skip and enjoys sewing during her free time and spending time with her cats.
