Jane Timper was born in Wilmington but lived much of her life in Raleigh, North Carolina. After she graduated from high school, she attended Meredith College where she received a Bachelors of Arts in Mathematics Education.

Jane Timper has worked in several positions at Rockingham Community College since her move here in 1984. She first began her career in the Adult High School program and then later moved to the Math & Science Division as a part-time faculty member. In 2003, she joined the division full time. Mrs. Timper is a familiar face for many students seeking assistance in their math skills. She is a significant figure in the Math & Science Lab where she is dedicated to helping students achieve success in their math courses.

Through the years, Jane Timper has helped the campus community by serving on several campus councils and committees as well as a member of several professinal organizations. She is a member of the North Carolina Community College Faculty Assocation, North Carolina Association of Developmental Education, and the North Carolina Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges. She is an active member of the Faculty Senate and has served on the Calendar Committee, Developmental Alliance Committee, Advisory Committee, and has worked with the Campus Foundation.

Jane Timper lives in Reidsville with her husband Fred. Together, they have a son named Reed and twin girls, Katherine and Natalie.
