| Nursing Assistant Individuals who desire to work in the capacity of a nurse aide in a hospital or a long term care facility must: - complete a state approved training or competency evaluation.
- be listed on the Nurse Aide I Registry with the Division of Facility Services (required to work in North Carolina as a nursing assistant).
Requirements for taking NAI coursework include: - High School or GED diploma (copy of document required for files).
- Documentation of recent TB skin test, tetanus, rubella, and rubeola.
The RCC course is a competency- based course of 120 hours consisting of 60 hours of classroom work and 60 hours of clinical experience in a hospital or long term care facility. Students must demonstrate skills required for a NAI position and pass written and/or oral exam. |
