Dean Myrick returns to the RCC sidelines for the 2008-09 season after a two-year absence. Myrick arrived at RCC in 1998, and led the Eagles for eight years, accumulating an overall record of 154-88. In 2002, he guided the Eagles to the Region 10, Division I Championship and a 24-10 record in their first year of competing at the Division I level. During his eight years, 36 student-athletes transferred to four-year schools to continue their academic and athletic career. He has coached five Region 10 Players of the Year, five NJCAA All-Americans, and over 23 All-Region 10 performers. Four former Eagles have played professionally overseas.

Myrick graduated from Bluefield College with a B.S. in Physical Education and East Stroudsburg University with M.Ed. in Sport Management. He arrived at RCC from Southwest Va. Community College after amassing a two-year overall record of 49-9. He has also served as Assistant Baseball and Women's Basketball Coach at Bluefield College.

Myrick also serves as the Director of Student Life and Athletics, and is the National Junior College Athletic Association Men's Region 10 Director. He currently serves on the NJCAA, DIII Basketball Committee, Standards and Ethics Committee, and Chairs the All-American Committee.

Myrick is a native of Chase City, VA. and is married to Sharon Miller Myrick. They reside in Greensboro, NC.
