The Small Business Center (SBC) provides a range of services to small business owners, business and industry, prospective owners, and ANYONE WHO IS DETERMINED TO BE A MORE SUCCESSFUL AND FULFILLED PERSON.

• More than 97 percent of all North Carolina businesses employ less than 100 people!
• More than 80 percent of all North Carolina businesses employ 20 workers or less and by the year 2000.
• Small businesses are expected to generate an additional 900,000 jobs in North Carolina!

The SBC delivers technical and managerial assistance to businesses and prospective owners through more accessible and better information, education and training, and counseling and referral.

The objective of the SBC is to provide the following range of services:

1. Seminars and short courses for business owners and employees
2. Direct one-to-one assistance to small business owners and prospective owners
3. Network of linkages
4. A resource and information bank
5. Partnerships with state agencies and other groups
6. Training and upgrading for the employees of small businesses
