The Computer Information Technology curriculum is designed to prepare graduates for employment with organizations that use computers to process, manage, and communicate information. This is a flexible curriculum that can be customized to meet community information systems needs. Course work will develop a student’s ability to communicate complex technical issues related to computer hardware, software, and networks in a manner that computer users can understand. Classes cover computer operations and terminology, operating systems, database, networking, security, and technical support.
Careers include computer operator, systems analyst, helpdesk technician, helpdesk analyst, computer support specialist, technical support specialist, systems administrator. Graduates should qualify for employment in entry-level positions with businesses, educational systems, and governmental agencies that rely on computer systems to manage information. Graduates should be prepared to sit for industry recognized certification exams.

Please complete the following four steps to complete the admissions process.
Step 1: Complete an RCC Application for Admission.
Step 2: Complete the Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA). You will need to enter RCC’s school code: 002958.
Step 3: Request an OFFICIAL transcript from your high school/GED and all colleges attended. You may bring sealed copies of your transcripts to us, or institutions can send transcripts directly to RCC’s Admissions Office.
Step 4: Come by our office in person to speak with an admissions counselor who will discuss your program of study and placement test requirements
