The Fire Protection Technology curriculum is designed to provide individuals with technical and professional knowledge to make decisions regarding fire protection for both public and private sectors. It also provides a sound foundation for continuous higher learning in fire protection, administration, and management. Course work includes classroom and laboratory exercises to introduce the student to various aspects of fire protection. Students will learn technical and administrative skills such as hydraulics, hazardous materials, arson investigation, fire protection safety, fire protection safety, fire suppression management, law and codes.
Graduates should qualify for employment or advancement in governmental agencies, industrial firms, insurance rating organizations, educational organizations,and municipal fire departments. Those already employed in these areas should have opportunities for skilled and supervisory-level positions within their current organizations after obtaining this degree.
Please complete the following four steps to complete the admissions process.
Step 1: Complete an RCC Application for Admission.
Step 2: Complete the Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA). You will need to enter RCC’s school code: 002958.
Step 3: Request an OFFICIAL transcript from your high school/GED and all colleges attended. You may bring sealed copies of your transcripts to us, or institutions can send transcripts directly to RCC’s Admissions Office.
Step 4: Come by our office in person to speak with an admissions counselor who will discuss your program of study and placement test requirements
