Phlebotomy Certificate (C45600)

The Phlebotomy curriculum provides individuals with the skills to obtain blood and other specimens for the purpose of laboratory analysis. Course work includes proper specimen collection and handling, communication skills, and maintaining patient data. Graduates may qualify for employment in hospitals, clinics, physicians’ offices, and other health care settings and may be eligible for national certification as phlebotomy technicians.

NOTE: The Phlebotomy program is a limited-enrollment program. Eligible applicants are admitted on a space available basis to the program in the fall or spring semester, provided they have met both general and program admission requirements and are offered admission. Individuals who are interested in the program must follow instructions and meet all requirements found on the Phlebotomy Admissions Information page.

Please complete the following four steps to complete the admissions process.

Step 1: Complete an RCC Application for Admission.

Step 2: Complete the Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA). You will need to enter RCC’s school code: 002958.

Step 3: Request an OFFICIAL transcript from your high school/GED and all colleges attended. You may bring sealed copies of your transcripts to us, or institutions can send transcripts directly to RCC’s Admissions Office.

Step 4: Come by our office in person to speak with an admissions counselor who will discuss your program of study and placement test requirements
