The Welding Technology curriculum provides students with a sound understanding of the science, technology, and applications essential for successful employment in the welding and metal industry. Instruction includes consumable and non-consumable electrode welding and cutting processes. Courses in math, blueprint reading, metallurgy, welding inspection, and destructive and non-destructive testing provides the student with industry- standard skills developed through classroom training and practical application.
Successful graduates of the Welding Technology curriculum may be employed as entry- level technicians in welding and metalworking industries. Career opportunities also exist in construction, manufacturing, fabrication, sales, quality control, supervision, and welding related self-employment.
Note: Students enrolling in this program must purchase student accident insurance.
Please complete the following four steps to complete the admissions process.
Step 1: Complete an RCC Application for Admission.
Step 2: Complete the Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA). You will need to enter RCC’s school code: 002958.
Step 3: Request an OFFICIAL transcript from your high school/GED and all colleges attended. You may bring sealed copies of your transcripts to us, or institutions can send transcripts directly to RCC’s Admissions Office.
Step 4: Come by our office in person to speak with an admissions counselor who will discuss your program of study and placement test requirements
