Athletics At RCC

AthleticsAthletics have long been a part of the college experience, and that’s certainly the case at RCC. We offer plenty of ways to have fun, whether you’re a spectator or a participant.

Intercollegiate Athletics
RCC fields teams in men’s baseball and women’s volleyball. Our mascot is the Eagle. RCC's teams compete in the National Junior College Athletic Association Region X Division III Carolinas Virginia Conference in men's baseball, and Division III Western Carolina Conference in women's volleyball. Eagle teams play a competitive schedule, which spans from Maryland to Florida. To learn more about our different sports teams, click the links below.

Individuals interested in playing intercollegiate athletics at RCC should call the Director of Student Life and Athletics, at 336.342.4261, ext. 2323. Students admitted to the college who plan to participate in intercollegiate athletics must meet all admissions criteria set forth in the college catalog. Athletic recruitment follows the guidelines set forth by the National Junior College Athletic Association and the potential student athlete’s ability to benefit from Rockingham Community College’s program and services. Financial Aid for student athletes is administered through the Financial Aid Office. Student athletes are encouraged to apply for all the financial aid for which they may qualify. The institution currently awards no scholarships based purely on athletic participation. Student-athletes must maintain satisfactory progress in their chosen majors. This satisfactory progress is determined jointly by RCC’s Academic Progress Policy and NJCAA eligibility guidelines.
