Admission Information
WELCOME...to RCC's Admissions Office!
Rockingham Community College (RCC) admits non-immigrant students with proper authorization.
Our college is one of 58 colleges of the North
Carolina Community College System. We offer three types of programs:
Certificates:
Skill-oriented programs that take less than a year to complete
Diplomas:
Skill-oriented programs that take one year attending full-time to complete
Degrees:
Two-year Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degrees are skill-oriented, yet many students
transfer to four-year institutions. Two-year Associate Degrees (Arts, Science, and
Fine Arts) are college transfer programs through which students complete their first two
years of a four-year bachelor's degree program.
WHERE IS THE COLLEGE LOCATED?
Rockingham Community College is located in the rolling hills
of north central North Carolina. It is a rural area, so students must plan for
providing their own transportation -- there is no public transportation available.
There is no on-campus housing available, so students are responsible for making their own
living arrangements.
WHAT IS THE COST OF EDUCATION?
Non-immigrant students are treated as non-residents of North
Carolina with regard to tuition and fees. Employment is very limited, and financial
aid is not available for international students. As part of the application process,
students must provide proof of sufficient funds to cover all living expenses, tuition and
fees while attending RCC.
For the 2003-2004 year, the estimated annual cost for attendance is
$15,800.
Tuition and Fees -- $7,000
Books and Supplies -- $600
Living Allowance -- $7,200
(estimated housing, utilities, and food at $800 per month)
Personal Allowance -- $1,000
$15,800 per academic year (August through May)
