Effective Teacher Training

This 36-hour course is designed to provide teacher assistants and substitutes with principles and practices of effective teaching and is recognized by the NC Department of Public Instruction. The extensive curriculum focuses on skills for basic classroom management, childhood development, and instructional techniques. In addition to this course, the Career Readiness Certificate is recommended for greater employment opportunities. Questions about employment with the Rockingham County Public School system, including whether you may be exempt from this class as a condition of becoming employed with RCS, should be directed to the Human Resources Department at Rockingham County Schools at 336-627-2600. Students must have a high school diploma or GED and must be at least 18 years old to enroll in this class.
