Help Determine the Future of a New Public Park in Rockingham County

Rockingham County in partnership with Rockingham Community College is planning a public park on the approximately 100-acre parcel of vacant, wooded land across from the entrance to Belews Landing. Duke Energy has donated the land to Rockingham County. The county has contracted with a planning and design firm, OBS Landscape Architects, to develop a site-specific master plan for the park.

Your input and ideas are important and will help determine the future recreational facilities and opportunities offered at this new park. Visit the park website at – www.belewspark.com to see more information about the park, the planning phases, site analysis maps, and photos of the property. You can also complete a survey on the website to give ideas of what you would like to see developed at the park.

OBS will present initial ideas and conceptual designs for the park at a drop-in public meeting on Thursday, January 11, 2018, from 5-7pm in Room 105 of the Advanced Technologies Building on the RCC campus. A draft master plan will be presented to the community for consideration at a second drop-in public meeting on Thursday, February 8, 2018, from 5-7pm in Room 105 of the Advanced Technologies Building on the RCC campus.
