RCC Offers Paramedic Initial Program in April

Paramedic Initial Program will be offered April 5, 2018 – June 25, 2019 on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and the third weekend of every month.

If students work or volunteer with a North Carolina Fire Department, Rescue Squad, or EMS agency they will receive a tuition discount and textbooks at no charge thanks to a Short-Term Workforce Training Grant from the North Carolina Community College System. RCC received $179,000 through this grant to expand and improve the paramedic program offered by the college.

The Paramedic Initial Program meets national curriculum standards and provides individuals with the knowledge, skills and attributes to provide advanced emergency medical care as a paramedic for critical and emergent patients who access the emergency medical system. Graduates are prepared to enter the workforce. Employment opportunities include providers of emergency medical services, convalescent ambulance services, fire departments, rescue agencies, hospital specialty areas, industry, educational and government agencies.

Students who successfully complete the course are eligible to sit for the North Carolina State Paramedic cognitive examination.
