Certificate

This certificate is designed to provide students with the office competencies and customer service skills needed in an office environment. Upon completion, students will be prepared for employment in office administration positions such as office clerk, customer service representative, and receptionist. Upon completion, students will be prepared for MOS industry recognized certification exams. Courses within this certificate may be applied to the Medical Office Administration Associate
in Applied Science degree.

Employment Competencies

Upon successful completion, graduates will be able to:

  • Demonstrate the skills and decision-making abilities essential for functioning in today’s professional office environment.
  • Utilize technology and software in a professional office environment.
  • Demonstrate the ability to efficiently handle customer relations and provide exceptional customer service.

Employment Outlook

Employment in office and administrative support occupations is projected to decline 5%, with a loss of about 959,700 jobs from 2019 to 2029. Technology is expected to substitute or supplant some functions that workers in office and administrative support occupations do. Despite projected employment declines, however, openings are expected to result from the need to replace workers who transfer to other occupations or exit the labor force, such as to retire.
