What are the advantages for taking 8-week courses at RCC?
Shorter Time Frame
- Earn the same # of credits in 8-weeks instead of 16-weeks
- Some students may be able to complete more classes each semester than in a traditional 16-week schedule, which will lead to faster degree completion.
Focus
- Take 3 to 4 courses each session rather than 5 to 6 classes at the same time
- Lock-down credits with intensity and focus
- Develop connections with your instructors and fellow students more quickly because you’re spending more time together in a shorter time frame
Success and Schedule Flexibility
- Students are more successful when they can focus their attention on fewer subjects at one time.
- Students who have more responsibilities like a job and family, focusing on fewer classes each session fits into their schedule better.
- Students do not have to wait a full 16-weeks to get back on track. Students can begin taking classes the 2nd 8-wks.
