RCC Foundation seeks board members
Jan 29, 2020The Rockingham Community College Foundation is accepting applications for members of its board of directors.
In December 2019, the RCC Trustees began restructuring and reorganizing the Foundation so that its vision and goals better support the College and its newly adopted 2019-2023 strategic plan, which focuses on four main goals:
• Student success;
• Workforce and economic impact;
• Communication, engagement and outreach; and
• Making improvements to the campus and promoting the growth of faculty and staff.
An interim Foundation board of directors includes Scott Barham, Nelson Cole, Hal Griffin, and Mark Collins, who all currently sit on the RCC Board of Trustees. College President Dr. Mark Kinlaw and Trustees Chair Janice Tate, along with Foundation Executive Director Kim Pryor, serve as ex-officio members. They are now tasked with expanding membership on the Foundation’s board of directors.
The mission of the RCC Foundation is to assist and support Rockingham Community College in its efforts to enhance individual and community success through education, employment assistance, service to business and industry, and contributions to cultural and social development.
The purpose of the Foundation is to serve as a vehicle to receive private gifts and bequests and to account for, manage, and help appreciate monies or property donated to the Foundation for the purpose of benefiting Rockingham Community College.

The simple application asks for contact information; involvement on boards, in offices and organizations; educational background; military background; involvement in community activities; and the reason for wanting to service as an RCC Foundation board member.
