The TRiO Student Support Services (SSS) is located in the Advanced Technologies Building, Room 113.
TRiO Student Support Services (SSS) is a federally funded program that offers extra support and assistance FOR 140 qualified students each academic year. To be eligible for the TRiO Student Support Services Program, a student must meet one of the following requirements: 1) The student is a first-generation college student (neither parent has earned a bachelor’s degree); 2) The student meets low-income status; or 3) the student has a physical or learning disability. The SSS staff wants to help students succeed in reaching their academic and career goals. Many of the program students are experiencing college life for the first time. Special efforts to encourage, inspire, and strengthen student’s academic performance is a high priority for the SSS staff. The SSS’s mission is to increase the graduation and transfer rates of students. The program offers both one-on-one and group-based services. All of the services are free for program participants. Contact the Student Support Services staff to learn more about the program.

  • Academics and Career Counseling
    We help you establish your academic and career goals to encourage your college success.

  • Individual Tutoring
    Our tutors are available to tutor in many subjects, including courses in English, Mathematics, Science, and Spanish. Individual tutoring sessions are tailored to meet your specific needs.

  • Mentoring Program
    The goal of SSS Mentoring Program is for the mentor (faculty/ staff) to assist the mentee (student) to understand the college culture and expectations and to serve as a guide to promote academic achievement, civic engagement, and personal and career aspirations.

  • Workshops in Academic and Career Success
    We offer special seminars designed to improve your study habits, test-taking skills, time management and coping skills.

  • Additional Services include:

     

    • Financial Literacy
    • Financial supplemental fund assistance for eligible students

    • College transfer advisement and assistance

    • Space for homework, studying, and tutoring

    • Computer lab

    Services hours for the Student Support Services Program, located in room 113 (Advanced Technologies Building) are:
    Monday-Thursday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
    Friday, 8:00 am -3:00 pm
