Lady Eagles Fall to Johnson and Wales

RCC’s Lady Eagles hosted Johnson and Wales University from Charlotte Monday night in the Keys Gymnasium. The first game was a barn burner ending with a score of 32-34 with Johnson and Wales securing the two-point advantage to win the game. The Lady Eagles fought back to win the second game with a score 25-23 to even the match 1-1. Johnson and Wales won the next two games, 17-25 and 15-25, to win the match 3-1.

“This year the team is dedicated, hardworking, and they inspire others to perform better,” said Head Coach Brooke Hensley Young, who is in her second year at RCC. “This team feels like a family and the court is our home. I see the team improving on last year’s results and really making a run in the conference tournament this year.”

Lady Eagles are: Rachel Kendrick, Outside Hitter; Reece Thompson, Outside Hitter; Janiah Sutton, Middle Hitter; Amanda Denny, Middle Hitter; Cassie Gover, Setter; Averie Woods, Defensive Specialist; Taylor Turley, Libero; Carley Gibson, Outside Hitter; Taylor Lucas, Right Side.
