Plant sale starts April 25
Apr 23, 2024Anyone interested in getting their garden ready as the ground warms up needs to add the annual plant sale at Rockingham Community College to their calendar.
The sale is held in the last week of April and the first week of May.
This year, it is open from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursday and Friday, April 25-26 and May 2-3.
Students in the Agribusiness Marketing class, Farm Business Management class, and the Business Technologies Club are involved in the sale.
Please note, only cash and checks are accepted.
Offerings include flowers, plants, herbs and more, for very low prices:
- 4-pack of vegetables, flowers, or herbs – $1.75
- Full flats (mix) – $18
- 4-inch perennials – $1
- 4-inch wave petunias – $1
- 4-, 5-, or 6-inch spider plants – $ 1
- 4-, 5-, or 6-inch geraniums – $ 4
- 4-inch king coleus – $ 4
- 4-inch Solarscape impatiens – $ 4
- Gallon geraniums – $ 7
- Gallon tomatoes – $ 4
- Hanging baskets of flowers – $ 16
- Hanging wandering plants – $16
- Hanging ferns – $16
- Hanging spider plants – $14
RCC’s greenhouse is located at 380 Wrenn Memorial Road. If you drive past the college’s Administration, Science and Humanities buildings, you’ll get to a gigantic parking lot – the greenhouse in the far corner up a small driveway. There will be signs posted.
