Learn about scholarships via Zoom
Jun 22, 2021Rockingham Community College will hold Zoom sessions to discuss scholarships available to students interested in enrolling this fall. The public is invited.
The Admissions and Financial Aid offices are teaming up for these 30-minute sessions, to dole out information on many opportunities available for financial help from the College.
“There are so many ways in which RCC can help students, there is no reason to delay your college education,” said Gerri Hunt, RCC’s director of public information. “We have a lot of money available for students who are earning college credits for a certificate, diploma or associate degree, whether they enter a career at that point or transfer their credits to a four-year university. But we also have money for students in many of our lengthier continuing education programs.”
One of the newest scholarships is Rockingham CARES, which will provide every curriculum student enrolled this fall with $600 or $1,200 depending on the number hours they take.
RCC also offers GEER scholarships and Eagle Train and Gain for students enrolled in numerous continuing education programs that are 96+ hours.
These scholarships and many others will be presented during general Zoom sessions at noon on Tuesday, June 29 and at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 30. To register, visit https://calendly.com/rccscholarships/fall2021.
Perhaps the biggest announcement from RCC has been the Longleaf Commitment Grant. It is specifically for students who graduated from any North Carolina high school this year, and provides free tuition and fees for two years if they enroll this fall.
