March 14 Coronavirus Update

Mar 14, 2020

Per North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper’s decision for public schools to close for a minimum of two weeks and further direction from the North Carolina Community College System, Rockingham Community College has made some decisions that will alter how we provide instruction and services.

Students will have an extended spring break, with no classes March 16 -March 20 and will shift to online instruction starting Monday, March 23 where applicable. Continuing education and Basic Law Enforcement Training students will proceed with classes on Monday, March 16 as normally scheduled.

While most of the classes will be offered on line during this period, the library and testing center will be open for students who may not have high speed Internet and appropriate devices for online instruction.

As of now, faculty and staff will report to work as regularly scheduled during this time period to prepare for a period of online instruction that will last from March 23 until further notice. The College is still open, and the College will continue to operate as scheduled unless specifically stated.

As said previously, we will continue to monitor this evolving situation, and we will provide updates. This communication supersedes all prior updates.

Please check your RCC email, RCC website, and Eagle Alerts for future information.
