Students Receive SECU Scholarships

RCC nursing assistant students Karren Bratcher, Kate Brumagin, Marysa Burroughs, Davette Fax, Alecia Hampton, Briana Howard, Spring O’Keefe, Kendell Tekely and Tylesha Woods received a State Employee’s Credit Union (SECU) Foundation Continuing Education Scholarship for $750 to be used as needed to pursue her education.
The $750 scholarships are funded by the SECU Foundation. The foundation established the program to help meet the needs of North Carolina’s unemployed and underemployed residents, focusing on assisting unemployed and underemployed adults, military veterans, and members of the National Guard. Scholarships are provided to each of North Carolina’s 58 community colleges to pay for short-term training that leads to state-recognized or industry-supported credentials.
