$500 essay contest deadline is March 2
Feb 13, 2020Students, what has your time at RCC meant to you? What led you to choose RCC for your education? Why is RCC the right choice for you and other students? If you can answer these questions in the form of an essay, you could win $500!
The Rockingham Community College Foundation is sponsoring this annual essay contest, for students currently enrolled at RCC. The deadline for entries is 10 a.m. on Monday, March 2.
Here are the submission guidelines:
• The title of the essay must be “RCC: The Best Choice for Me”
• Essays are to be 500 words or less (that really means no more than 500).
• Essays must be typed in 12-point Times New Roman font in black with lines double-spaced. (Please don’t use other fonts or colors or add graphics!)
• Do not use personal names in the body of the essay. People mentioned in the essay should be referred to by their job title, position or relationship.
• The first page of the essay must be a separate title page or cover sheet which has the following information on it in this order:
1) “RCC: The Best Choice for Me”
2) Author’s name
3) Home address
4) Area of study at RCC
5) Phone number
6) Email address
• The title should appear only on the title page or cover sheet—not as a heading on the first or any other page of the essay.
Essays must be emailed to pryork@rockinghamcc.edu. Submissions received after 10 a.m. March 2 deadline will not be accepted. Essays not following these guidelines will be automatically disqualified.
All entries become the property of the RCC Foundation and may be used for Foundation purposes in part or whole. Essays will be judged by an impartial committee of volunteers on sincerity, creativity and quality of personal expression. (In other words, grammar and spelling count!)
