Apr 1, 2020The Rockingham Community College Board of Trustees signed a resolution on March 17 to recognize the good works of Bryson Goins, a student at RCC.
Goins served as president of the RCC Student Government Association from August 2018 through January 2020, during which time he also served as student trustee of the College’s Board of Trustees.
“We want to recognize his work… I think he did a fantastic job as our student trustee,” said RCC President Dr. Mark Kinlaw, calling Goins up to the front of the board room.
According to the resolution, Goins “demonstrated leadership to improve student life and student activities through the planning and provision of events such as safe Halloween observances that brought hundreds of families to campus, and student-specific events such as the student March Madness bracket contest and Fantasy Football activity.”
Goins also participated in the activities of the North Carolina Community College System’s SGA through attending conferences, and through his RCC SGA leadership, sponsored a food drive to help the Robeson Community College family, south of Fayetteville, in its time of recovery from hurricane losses.
“Bryson, I really appreciate all that you’ve done. You’ve always had a positive influence on our student body and have done a lot to inspire students to get involved in student life on our campus,” Kinlaw said.
