OBD/IM Emissions Training

DMV 7300

This course prepares auto technicians and service personnel to be safety and emission inspectors for motor vehicles. It includes regulations and test inspection procedures. Students learn to inspect a vehicle and gain the skills necessary to pass the qualification exams for certification as a safety and emissions inspector at a licensed inspection station. Cash will not be accepted by the instructor. The cost of this class includes a $5 fee for the course manual. Classroom portion of classes are held on campus. In addition, there is a hands-on portion held at Jumpers Auto Service, located at 124 N Fieldcrest Road, Eden. The hands on portion will be scheduled with the instructor upon successful completion of classroom time.

Due to state mandated course code changes which included OBD/IM Emissions Training courses, DMV is the same as the previous course code AUT.

This class is designed to meet the standards in North Carolina, and not in any other state.

Pharmacy Technician

This training program provides instruction in the technical procedures for preparing and dispensing drugs in the hospital and retail settings under supervision of a registered pharmacist. Topics include drug packaging and labeling, out-patient dispensing, hospital dispensing procedures, controlled substance procedures, inventory control, and non-sterile compounding. Students will automatically be enrolled in a required 4-hour Technology Awareness course prior to the start of the course. Upon completion, students should be prepared to perform basic supervised dispensing techniques in a variety of pharmacy settings. The student will be eligible to apply for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE). The PTCE exam must be taken at a Pearson VUE professional testing center, which is available at RCC. The cost for the certification exam is approximately $130. Course prerequisite: Math pretest.

Phlebotomy Experience

The Phlebotomy program is designed to provide the theory and clinical experiences needed for the proper collection of blood and other specimens used for diagnostic testing. Emphasis is places on ethics, legalities, medical terminology, safety and universal precautions, health care delivery systems, patient relations, anatomy and physiology, and specimen collection. Students will be able to safely perform procedures necessary for specimen collections on patients in various health care settings. Students successfully completing the program receive certificates and will be eligible for national certification as phlebotomy technicians.

Vehicle Safety Inspection

DMV 7301

Learn the proper procedures for conducting vehicle safety inspections. Information on the operation of a safety inspection station is included. Cost includes $8 fee for manual. Pre-payment is REQUIRED. Classroom portion of classes are held on campus. In addition, there is a hands-on portion held at Jumpers Auto Service, located at 124 N Fieldcrest Road, Eden. The hands on portion will be scheduled with the instructor upon successful completion of classroom time.

Due to state mandated course code changes which include Vehicle Safety Inspection courses, DMV is the same as AUT.

This class is designed to meet the standards in North Carolina, and not in any other state.
